What are my Options?

Soft Contact Lenses

Soft contact lenses are popular because they are very comfortable for the wearer. Soft contact lenses don’t “pop out” the way hard lenses occasionally might. Soft lenses are appropriate to correct near and farsightedness and astigmatism.

Disposable soft contact lenses

These lenses are intended to be worn for a short time, to help prevent allergic reactions or bacterial infections in sensitive wearers. Disposable lenses are also appropriate for children who might not take excellent care when cleaning their lenses.  Disposable lenses replaced on a planned schedule, every day (1 Day),  two weeks, monthly or quarterly.

Extended wear contact lenses

Extended wear contact lenses are designed to be worn constantly for long periods of time – up to a week. They do need to be deep cleaned weekly, however. Unlike all other lenses, extended wear contacts can be worn while sleeping. The lens type allows sufficient oxygen to reach the eye for health.

Toric Contact Lenses for Astigmatism

Toric contact lenses are specially designed contacts for correcting astigmatism. People with astigmatism have corneas that aren’t perfectly rounded, which causes light to bend in a way that hits multiple spots on the retina as opposed to just one. The result? Blurry vision at all distances (and possibly other symptoms, too). Toric contact lenses correct this refractive error, giving people with astigmatism clear vision.

Soft Multifocals

Multifocal lenses work by fitting multiple prescription strengths on a single lens. They have different areas of the lens that are used for near and far vision. The wearer learns to use the area that provides the best vision for the distance automatically.

If you’re a contact wearer with presbyopia, multifocal contacts will make it possible to do your reading and other close-up work without the glasses.

MiSight® 1 day

MiSight® 1 day myopia control soft contact lenses are the first FDA approved* product proven to slow the progression of nearsightedness in children, aged 8-12 at the initiation of treatment.§1

ALTIUS® Sports Vision

ALTIUS™ Performance-Tinted Contact Lenses are game changing for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts, allowing them to improve their visual performance.

These contact lenses are single-use soft contact lenses, and available for those who wear a vision correction or those who don’t.

They protect the eyes by filtering UV and blue light and can be used for on-land or on-water sports and recreational activities.  ALTIUS lenses are easy to use and provide significant improvement in visual clarity, comfort, quickness and protection so that you can see better, feel better and play better.

ALTIUS® Medical

ALTIUS® contact lenses provide relief for individuals suffering from light sensitivity, primarily those who suffer from migraines, concussions, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and various ocular conditions. These individuals can experience extreme discomfort and headaches when exposed to light, especially certain wavelengths of Blue Light, whether natural or artificial. These issues can significantly impact their quality of life.

Colored contact lenses

These are worn to enhance or completely change the visual color of the iris. They are still prescription contact lenses, however, and need to be treated with the same care you would give to regular lenses. Many — but not all — brands of contact lens companies offer colored lens options.

Hard contact lenses

Hard contact lenses are rigid gas permeable. This means that they are porous enough to allow oxygen to enter through to the cornea. Hard contact lenses keep their shape on the eye. As such, they are sometimes recommended to curb the progression of nearsightedness in younger wearers.

Scleral Contact Lenses

Scleral lenses are an effective solution for a variety of issues that make wearing regular contact lenses impractical or impossible.

These lenses are larger in diameter than traditional contacts, but instead of sitting directly on the surface of the eye, they vault over it, leaving a gap between the cornea and the lens.

The space allows patients with corneal abnormalities such as keratoconus or surgical scarring to wear contact lenses. It also serves as a reservoir for tear film, keeping it on the surface of the eyes for longer and alleviating dry eye symptoms.
